Good morning all Greens' members and supporters in Cowper.
I’m sure that we are all reeling at the election result this
morning and feeling stunned to have to accept that the broad population here
opted to side with the group that has no plan for our future.
We must now look for every spec of the positive to move
forward with and Zali Steggall managing to kick Tony Abbott out is definitely
one of them. Mehreen looking to retain her senate seat is another!
Thank you so so much for the support you’ve given when
endorsing my candidacy and for all the invaluable help you’ve provided during
the race. I want you to know that I am not deterred from keeping up the fight
and will be taking the things learned from this experience and improving on it.
Thoughts are now turning to local government elections and
there is a real chance for more Greens councillors up and down the mid north
coast. In the meantime, even in the absence of national leadership and support,
many of us will continue to work in our communities through the local
grassroots movements that get plans made and projects done to keep us moving
toward the brighter future that we can and will have.
I wholeheartedly thank you all, you’ve been amazing!
