Jamie Parker MP

I'm thrilled to announce that I have just been appointed to the NSW Parliamentary Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption
This Committee reviews the performance of ICAC and reports on changes needed to improve it, including budget increases.
I will be the first ever Greens MP to take up this role.

The corruption-fighting efforts of the ICAC are deeply despised by many politicians. After exposing corrupt and illegal activities by so many Liberal and Labor MPs, the old parties have constantly sought to fatally undermine the work of the ICAC.

Now I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to help protect and strengthen our corruption watchdog through this Committee.
My top priority for the year is to clean up politics and make sure corrupt politicians and public servants are exposed and go to jail, where they belong.

Thanks to everyone in our community who’s supported my corruption campaigns over the years. This win wouldn’t be possible without you.

Here's a quick update on what else is going on in our local area.

Greens expose secret cladding register

The Greens have uncovered secret government documents that show 340 properties in the City of Sydney alone are at risk from flammable cladding.
I spoke to ABC News about the government's disgraceful attempt to try and hide these details from the public and the lack of regulation that has allowed this dangerous cladding to proliferate in NSW.

Let's make history for hens

Right now, we have a chance to transform the lives of millions of hens still suffering in battery cages in NSW.

The NSW Parliament is holding an inquiry into how eggs are produced in NSW. Help us show the government that our community wants an end to battery cages. Have your say by signing our submission.

Electric buses launch in Leichhardt

One of the best ways to make our city more liveable and sustainable is by building a world-class public transport system.

Following a strong community campaign, the government has just launched a trial of four electric buses in Leichhardt. These buses are an exhaust free, quiet and efficient option to replace current diesel buses.

Thank you to the thousands of residents who signed our petition pressing the government to make this change! Want more of these buses? Sign the petition!
