Bad laws spur renewed campaign to protect our biodiversity

Mehreen Faruqi MLC

This week, the Baird Government rushed land clearing laws through parliament. The laws will harm biodiversity, kill wildlife and destroy native vegetation. But we will continue to fight to protect the environment. Sign up to stay in touch with our campaign.

Latest sell-off could cost a bomb

Justin Field MLC

The closer we look at the sale of our world-class land titles office the worse it looks. The NSW Government is truly a one trick pony – privatise everything and don’t sweat  the future. Here are my thoughts concerning the enormous risks of this latest sell-off, in the Sydney Morning Herald.

Fascism is no joke

Jenny Leong, MP for Newtown

It's easier to ridicule the likes of Donald Trump and Pauline Hanson than to take them seriously. But the rise of fascism is no joke, and we might be laughing at our own expense. Baird Government removes western lands commission

Jeremy Buckingham MLC

In the dead of the night the Baird Government rushed through laws to remove the Western Lands Commission.  This will lead to fragmentation of our fragile far-west landscape and make management of this vast area more difficult. It will also create a funding death-spiral by removing the rental income that currently funds environmental action in the region.

Parliamentary action on forestry

Jan Barham MLC

In the final weeks of Parliament I’ve put motions on record about the Great Southern Forest and Forests Forever proposals. I’ve also asked questions about reviews of the NSW forestry agreements and approvals. With Regional Forest Agreements expiring soon we need a strong campaign to end destructive native forestry.
