Guardian News: Freda Brown - biography of this exceptional Australian by Dr L. Milner

"Freda was so practical, that really chimed with me. Her work for women’s rights continues to have ramifications practically and legally for women world-wide.

“She spent her whole life balancing the two loves of her life as a politically astute global activist and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.”

Lisa’s efforts are now published and Swimming Against the Tide will be launched at Coffs Harbour Jetty Theatre on September 21 (International Peace Day) at noon.

Guest of Honour will be Freda’s daughter, Lee Rhiannon.

There will be a second launch in Sydney on October 7 at the Bondi Pavilion – Caroline Jones AO will do the honours.

* Dr Lisa Milner is a labour historian and academic at Southern Cross University, Coffs Harbour campus."
