The Prime Minister must dump Melissa Price from the ministry, Greens environment spokesperson Senator Sarah Hanson-Young said.
“The climate and our environment can’t afford another term with Melissa Price as environment minister. Scott Morrison should show the millions of Australians who care about protecting the environment and taking climate action that he is willing to listen, by dumping Melissa Price as environment minister," Senator Hanson-Young said.
“The Liberals will cement their destruction of our environment by backing in the worst environment minister ever, Melissa Price, for another term.
“Melissa Price has been missing in action since she took the job in August. She wouldn’t front up to the Australian people when the UN released its harrowing report on the extinction crisis, and did not respond to a challenge for a debate on the state of our environment. When she has surfaced, it has only been to insult world leaders fighting for climate action, or to approve the Adani coal mine and a mega uranium mine in WA.
“The Greens in the Senate will redouble our efforts to fight for climate action and to solve our biodiversity crisis before irreversible damage is done.”
