The Nambucca Macleay Greens met as an independent group for the first time on October 30, 2016

It will serve the communities of the Macleay and Nambucca Shires, both shires named after their major rivers. These shires contain some of the most beautiful areas of NSW. The communities also face significant social problems with low average  household incomes and isolated rural communities.

Valla, Bowraville, Nambucca Heads, Macksville, Scotts Head, Stewarts Point, South West Rocks, Crescent Head, Kempsey and Gladstone are some of the communities in these two shires.
