The Australian Greens are warning crossbench senators of the devastating
job losses facing universities if the Government’s $3.8 billion cuts
pass the senate.
“Crossbench senators need to think long and hard about whether they want to be responsible for devastating job cuts across the board or whether they’ll stand up for our universities.
“With less staff, there are less resources available to assist students in their learning. Our young people need to have certainty that when they apply for university, there will be lecturers, tutors and student support staff available to aid in their education.
“Without proper investment in our universities and the future workforce, the Turnbull Government is sending our state backwards. I call on the senate crossbench to join with the Greens in voting against these dumb cuts.”
