Arthur Bain, Greens Oxley candidate events

It's all happening at the Green stall at Valla Beach Community Markets with Greens candidate for Oxley, Arthur Bain and the committed team of volunteers.

...........................

Great reception for Arthur Bain, Greens candidate for Oxley at the Pappinbarra markets.

Locals are concerned about logging of Native Forests, particularly about the possibility of using "... residues in the North Coast’s sustainably managed forests and sawmills to power more than 200,000 local homes per year." (DPI 2017)

Also of concern was the balance between housing development and infrastructure, along with social justice issues - the need for more rehabilitation facilities and programs for drug addicts, instead of the expansion and privatisation of NSW Corrections facilities.

Many visitors to the stall expressed their pride in the students who went on strike last Friday to protest the government's inaction on Climate Change. Very proud of a local 12 year old who made the news this week ...

It gives me faith in the future to see such well informed young people - we hold their future in our hands.
